First Aid

In order to join FAIB as Training Provider you need to have certain documents, certificates and experience. All of which will be uploaded to our online portal. 

Documentation Required -

• Current First Aid at Work (FAW) Certificate or Equivalent (e.g.FPOS)
• Exemption to having FAW Certificate(e.g. Doctor, Nurse or Paramedic) Registered with their relevant Body. (must have evidence of current First Aid knowledge)
• Paediatric First Aid (PFA) Certificate (if offering Paediatric First Aid training)
• Teaching Qualification - A formal Teaching/Training qualification
• Assessing Qualification  - A formal assessing qualification (if not already covered by the teaching qualification)
• List of First Aid courses taught each year over the past 3 years (FAW, EFAW, PFA & EPFA) Should be a minimum of 6 First Aid courses per year. For new Trainers with no teaching experience we have set up a Trainer Verification Course, read more here 

Quality Assurance Required -

• End of course Student Evaluation Form
• Complaints Procedure
• Procedure for maintenance of Equipment
• Specification for a Training Room
• Annual Monitoring of Trainer(s)/Assessor(s)
• Responsible Person for Quality Assurance

FAIB have example copies of Quality Assurance procedures, please upload the documents you have for now and we will be able to assist with the rest.

First Year -

Annual fee: £350.00
Registration fee: £100.00
Trainer/Assessor registration: £20.00 (must register a minimum of 1 Trainer)

Renewals -

At the end of your first year, you will be required to complete an annual return form, as part of this form you will detail the number of courses taught and certificates issued.

While the majority of our Training Providers will still only pay £350.00 for their renewal, if you issue a large number of certificates during your initial 12 month registration period, you will be put into a new bracket and your renewal price will be applied by FAIB as part of the renewal process.

0-500 Certificates = £350.00 per year
500-750 Certificates = £475.00 per year 
750-1000 Certificates = £575.00 per year
1001 - 1500 Certificates = £700.00 per year

The information available to download below includes FAIB (Employer) Due Diligence, Registration of Training Providers, and Registration of Trainers/Assessors.

Being a member of FAIB enables you to demonstrate to clients that your training procedures are thorough, meeting both internal and external quality inspections/verifications. It ensures that you uphold consistently high standards in First Aid training and are subject to both internal and external verification.

As a registered FAIB Training Provider, you'll gain access to our teaching materials in the FAIB Members area on our website, including Lesson Plans, Assessment Sheets, and FAIB PowerPoints. These materials cover all standards required by FAIB to support high-quality First Aid training.

Additionally, the documents below also clarify that FAIB First Aid qualifications are at the very least equivalent to those of Ofqual Awarding Organisations and the Voluntary Aid Societies.
